Dr. Asom received his Masters degree in Physics and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Howard University and an MBA from The Wharton Business School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Asom started his career as a research scientist at Bell Labs (Lucent Technologies) before becoming a director in the Lucent New Ventures Group. The team was tasked with raising capital, incubating and commercializing Bell Lab’s technology outside Lucent’s core business strategy. The team raised and deployed over $350 Million investors to fund 34 separate ventures.
Dr. Asom went on to co-found SyChip Inc. in 2000, semiconductor company based on some of his patents and proprietary chipset designs. Sychip was acquired by Murata Electronics in 2006, a transaction that was the one of the largest semiconductor M&A transaction that year.
Following the successful integration of Sychip into Murata Electronics, Moses joined Panovel Technologies in China as it’s CEO. Panovel
Dr. Asom’s latest entrepreneurial venture is Seefam Inc. Founded in 2015, the company is leveraging increasingly ubiquitous wireless connectivity, advanced machine learning algorithms and proprietary high gain sensors to deliver an end-to-end solution for the monitoring and continuous optimization of the global supply chain networks. Seefam has demonstrated real world commercial results to clients and is an oft cited example of the value proposition of the Internet of Things “IoT” or web 3.0.
Dr. Asom continues to be a much sort after mentor and investor across the world. His passion for Africa and his home country Nigeria, has led him to seed, support and mentor numerous business using technology to solve “real world” problems in Nigeria and the continent.
